Narrativas Pueblerinas -the literary meeting in Jardín- will be dedicated to the writer Jesus Botero Restrepo (1921-2008) and the Andágueda region. Botero published the novel Andágueda in 1947, that is to say to his early 26 years, producing an enormous impact. Manuel Mejía Vallejo considered it the best indigenist novel written in America.
Narrativas Pueblerinas will take place in Jardín between August 17 and 19 (20189. It is a literary encounter addressed to the wide public: to the inhabitants of Jardín and to those who want to hear about letters in the midst of pure air and beauty. It is designed to enjoy the first three hours of the night, and that the attendees have time to stop in their chores and in the corners of the town.
This year will be musicians, journalists, scholars and writers, among whom are the renowned chroniclers Juan José Hoyos and Alonso Salazar. There will be spaces for black and indigenous music and for the presentation of the new edition of the novel by the Editorial EAFIT. The initiative, which dates back to last year but wants to become a tradition, is from the Gallito de las Rocas Guesthouse, the Corporación Cultural de Jardín and the Escuela de Música de Jardín. This year it has the support of the Ministry of Culture, Comfama, and the universities of Antioquia and Eafit.
